Lineas contracts Voith for locomotive overhaul
BELGIAN private rail freight operator Lineas has awarded Voith with a contract to overhaul its fleet of 30 Siemens/Vossloh class 77 diesel-hydraulic shunting locomotives. The work will be scheduled for completion before the end of 2024.

Baden-Württemberg plans order for 230 double-deck EMUs
THE German state of Baden-Württemberg is reportedly planning to purchase up to 130 double-deck EMUs via the state-owned leasing company Baden-Württemberg State Rail Vehicle Authority (SFBW) in an order that would be worth around €1.47bn.

Portugal: Comsa’s infrastructure division and Portuguese subsidiary Fergrupo, has been awarded a contract to renovate the 33.7km Pampilhosa - Santa Comba Dão section of the Beira Alta line, as well as to construct the 3.2km Mealhada Agreement link between the Northern Line and the Beira Alta line.

SNCF offers incentives to revitalise TER services

Russian Railways plans 358 more coach renovations by December 2020
RUSSIAN Railways’ (RZD) Federal Passenger Company (FPK) has announced plans to modernise a further 358 long-distance coaches by the end of the year as part of its ongoing coach renovation programme.
