Swedish public operators receive SKr 2.9bn to cover lost revenue

Britain: CAF has selected Finnish telecommunications company Teleste to supply onboard systems for 43 driverless metro trains on order for London’s Docklands Light Railway (DLR). Teleste will supply passenger information, public address and CCTV systems and ultrawide TFT displays for the trains, which are expected to enter service from 2023.

CROATIAN Railways’ (HZ) subsidiary operator HZ Passenger Transport (HZPP) has awarded a Kunas 845m ($US 133.7m) contract for the supply of 21 EMUs to Zagreb-based Koncar EV.

Melbourne airport rail route confirmed
THE Australian federal government and state government of Victoria have finalised the route for the planned Melbourne airport rail link, effectively rejecting a proposal from a private consortium to construct a $A 5bn ($US 3.69bn) 6km dedicated tunnel between the city and West Footscray.

Amtrak reports $US 800m loss in 2020
AMTRAK reported an operating loss of $US 801.1m in preliminary results for fiscal year 2020, which ran from October 2019 to September 2020. Operating revenues were $US 2.3bn, a decrease of 31.9% year-on-year. The passenger railway also reported advancing $US 1.9bn in infrastructure and fleet work.
