Network Rail and Strukton Rail sign MoU

Israel officially launches Tel Aviv - Jerusalem A1 electric service
ISRAEL officially launched the introduction of electric train operation on the A1 link between Tel-Aviv Hahagana and Jerusalem Navon on December 18 ahead of the start of the full service on December 21. This follows several weeks of test running.

CZECH passenger operator RegioJet began operation of its first contracted regional services on December 15. While RegioJet has operated tendered services in Slovakia between Bratislava and Kormoran for several years, it has not previously won contracts in the Czech Republic.

RUSSIAN manufacturer United Wagon Company (UWC) and Laude Smart Intermodal, Poland, have signed a contract for the supply of 200 standard-gauge Sgmmns flat wagons to transport heavy-duty containers, as UWC looks to reinforce its position in the standard-gauge market.
