Stadler to develop firefighting and rescue trains for ÖBB
AUSTRIAN Federal Railways (ÖBB) Infrastructure and Stadler have signed a framework agreement worth around €240m for the development, manufacture, delivery, approval and commissioning of up to 20 new firefighting and rescue trains.

British inter-city fleet to receive updated brake pads and discs
KNORR-Bremse has agreed a framework contract with Hitachi Rail to supply a new generation of brake pads and discs for the fleet of 1200 class 800, 801 and 802 vehicles, which have been introduced on various inter-city routes in Britain since 2017.

Stadler to supply metre-gauge trains to Centovalli railway
TICINO Regional Railway (Fart) has awarded Stadler a SFr 94m ($US 105.9m) contract to supply eight metre-gauge EMUs to replace legacy equipment used on the Centovalli cross-border railway in Ticino, Switzerland, and Piedmont, Italy, from 2023.

PowerChina and Alstom to reportedly build Belgrade Metro
THE Serbian government, the city of Belgrade, PowerChina and Alstom are due to sign an agreement to construct the new Belgrade metro on January 22, finance minister Mr Sinisa Mali told Serbian state news agency Tanjug on January 5.

Construction on Delhi - Meerut RRTS begins
INDIA’s National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has commenced construction of a 4.3km viaduct connecting Sarai Kale Khan station and New Ashok Nagar station, marking the start of work on the 82km Delhi - Ghaziabad - Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS).
