Canadian Pacific reports 6% rise in 2020 operating income
CANADIAN Pacific (CP) has reported a 6% rise in operating income to $C 3.3bn ($US 2.58bn) in 2020 compared with 2019, with a 280 base point improvement in its operating ratio to 57.1%. CP also achieved a 4% increase in fourth-quarter operating income to $C 928m, compared with the same period in 2019.

Hungarian-Russian consortium plans 125-hectare freight terminal
A consortium of Hungarian and Russian private investors has purchased a 125-hectare development area in Hungary’s Záhony transshipment area in Fényeslitke, near the Ukrainian border, for the construction of a new intermodal freight terminal to serve the Asia-Europe rail freight market.
