NJ Transit approves contract for Bombardier double-deck trains

THE New Jersey (NJ) Transit board of directors approved a $US 670m contract with Bombardier on December 13 for 113 new double-deck vehicles, including its first double-deck EMUs.

NS introduces New Generation Sprinter EMUs

NETHERLANDS Railways (NS) marked the official entry of its fleet of New Generation Sprinter (SNG) EMUs into commercial service on December 9, when Dutch state secretary for railways at the Ministry of Transport, Mrs Stientje van Veldhoven, and NS CEO Mr Roger van Boxtel made an inaugural trip from Haarlem to The Hague Central.
