Auvergne rail network secures €280m investment

FRENCH prime minister, Mr Jean Castex, and president of the Auvergne-Rhônes-Alpes region, Mr Laurent Wauquiez, signed an agreement on October 5 under which €280m will be spent in the next two years to improve the rail network in Auvergne.

Amtrak requests extra funding to avoid further service cutbacks and job losses

AMTRAK says it requires up to an additional $US 4.857bn from the United States government to support the company and employees for the remainder of the current fiscal year due to the impact of Covid-19.
