Transport Safety Victoria (TSV) is Victoria's integrated safety regulator for bus, maritime and rail transport.
It is headed by the Director, Transport Safety (Safety Director) whose statutory object is to independently seek the highest transport safety standards that are reasonably practicable, consistent with the transport system's vision and objectives under the Transport Integration Act 2010 (Vic).

This is achieved through administering bus, maritime and rail safety legislation that promotes transport safety outcomes in Victoria, including the following: Transport Integration Act 2010, Public Transport Competition Act 1995, Bus Safety Act 2009, Bus Safety Regulations 2010, Marine Safety Act 2010, Marine Safety Regulations 2012, Marine Safety (Domestic Commercial Vessel) National Law Act 2012, Rail Safety National Law (South Australia) Act 2012, Rail Safety National Law National Regulations 2012, Rail Safety (Local Operations) Act 2006 (Vic), and Rail Safety (Local Operations) Regulations 2006.

TSV regulates the safety of all marine, train, tram and bus operations in Victoria, both directly, and through service arrangements with the Office of the National Rail Safety Regulator and the Australian Maritime Safety Authority.
The position reports to the Manager , Technical Support and is responsible for providing risk, risk management, and systems assurance expertise and advice to the Rail Safety Branch of Transport Safety Victoria (TSV). The position provides leadership and guidance in a complex area of strategic importance.

The position is required to work with high level stakeholders, the Office of the National Rail Safety Regulator (ONRSR) and provide policy advice to government and key industry stakeholders. The role supports the strategic planning function and the delivery of compliance and accreditation tasks for the Rail Safety Branch.

To be successful in this role you will have Postgraduate qualifications in a field of risk engineering, safety science or systems assurance together with relevant industry experience.

Candidate will be responsible for managing the construction management team for transit systems on large infrastructure project. Qualified candidate should have 15+ years of experience in transit systems. Prefer a BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. Professional Engineer registration is desirable.

Required Qualifications:
