Budapest tram Line 1 reaches Kelenföld
BUDAPEST added three more stations to its extensive tram network on July 8 with the opening of the 1.7km extension of Line 1 from Fehérvári út to a new terminus at Etele tér adjacent to Kelenföld metro and main line stations.

Chinese consortium signs contract for Budapest – Belgrade upgrade
THE CRE Consortium and the Chinese-Hungarian Railway Non-profit Limited Company (CHRN), set up by Hungarian State Railways MÁV and the Chinese government, have signed a Forints 590bn ($US 1.5bn) contract for the upgrading of the Hungarian section of the Budapest - Belgrade line.

MÁV-Start awards contract for Talent EMU overhaul
MÁV-Start, the passenger and traction subsidiary of Hungarian State Railways (MÁV) has signed a two-year contract with Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) and Hungarian rolling stock maintenance and manufacturing company MÁV Vagon for the mid-life overhaul of its fleet of 10 class 425 Talent EMUs.
